New Landscape Painting - "Aletheia"

Aletheia, 20" x 20", Oil

"Aletheia" is the third oil painting in the trio of paintings based on Greek mythology (the first two are "Elysium" and "Erebus").

According to Wikipedia, Aletheia means:

Aletheia (ἀλήθεια) is the Greek word for "truth", and like the English word implies sincerity as well as factuality or reality. The literal meaning of the word ἀ–λήθεια is, "the state of not being hidden; the state of being evident".

I began the palette knife painting during a demo at Abend Gallery in April 2009 (see photo below). Once it's fully dried and framed, it will be available at Abend.

New Representation - Ravenstone Gallery

"Erebus", 20" x 20"

I've been sitting on this news for a couple of months until my paintings were in the gallery; but as of today, I'm delighted to announce that my work is now also represented by Ravenstone Gallery in Estes Park, CO.

Ravenstone is owned by master artist, Jeff Legg, OPAM.

Jeff has been an ardent supporter of my artwork personally and I'm honored beyond belief that he's now chosen to represent my work professionally through his new gallery venture in Estes Park. I'm also honored to have my work hang with a stellar roster of artists including Elizabeth Pruitt, David Harms, Don Ellis, Wes Hyde, John Taft, and William Scott Jennings. (If I've missed anyone, please forgive me!)

If you are visiting Estes Park or Rocky Mountain National Park, please stop by the gallery.

New Landscape Painting - "Erebus"

"Erebus", 20" x 20", Oil on Canvas

This is the second in a small series of three paintings based on Greek mythology (the first is "Elysium").

I've been in a 'hot color' mood lately and the mythology fit the drama of the pieces.

I hope you enjoy the painting and thanks for visiting my site!

For more information on "Erebus", please visit Wikipedia.

Erebus (ˈer.e.bus) or Erebos or Erebes (Ancient Greek: Ἔρεβος, English translation: "deep blackness/darkness or shadow") was the son of a primordial god, Khaos, and represented the personification of darkness and shadow, which filled in all the corners and crannies of the world.
